Soulful Soups & Sandwiches and Boulevard Coffee Co. LLC are now operating new locations at the Wonder Building, the historic bakery-turned-office building at 835 N. Post, on Spokane’s North Bank.

Both establishments have set up shop in the Wonder Market, an artisan food hall and events space on the first floor of the Wonder Building.

Boulevard Coffee, which does business as BLVD Coffee Co., opened its third location at the property in April, says barista Stephanie Vick. BLVD Coffee also operates a stand at 1127 W. Northwest Blvd., and a coffee bar inside the Bank of America Building at 601 W. Riverside, she says.

BLVD Coffee is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering hot and cold beverages in addition to breakfast sandwiches and yogurt parfaits, which are made in-house. Fresh-baked pastries are available from Rocket Bakery, and savory food items, including breakfast burritos and breakfast bowls, are provided by vendors from across the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene area.

While not typically open on the weekends, Vick says owner Vanessa Abrahamson is planning to operate during some sports events, including during Hoopfest, which will feature basketball courts near the property.

The Wonder Building also features the second location for Soulful Soups & Spirits, dubbed Soulful Soups & Sandwiches, says owner Aaron Addison. The existing venue, located at 111 S. Madison, will remain soup-focused, serving about 10 different soups a day, while the Wonder Market venue offers a sandwich menu and three daily soups, he says.

Soulful Soups & Sandwiches uses fresh ingredients from vendors, including The Grain Shed and Twenty-Seventh Heaven Scratch Bake Shop, says manager Megan Jones. The shop’s summer sandwich menu features a smoked pulled pork sandwich with house-made blueberry barbecue sauce, a prosciutto sandwich with brie and roasted tomatoes, a veggie sandwich with garlic chive cream cheese, and other items, Jones says.

The space is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also will open for special events, including Hoopfest, says Addison.
