Red Lion Hotel Templin’s on the River, a Post Falls waterfront hotel overlooking the Spokane River, will close on Friday, Oct. 23 as its ownership group, which includes Hayden-based StanCraft, considers options to "reinvigorate the property," according to a press release.

Following a comprehensive assessment of the property’s potential, the ownership group has decided to close while it evaluates options for how to reposition the property. Potential options include remodeling or redevelopment of the property.

The hotel's accompanying marina, dubbed Marina 33, will remain fully open, operational, and central to the ownership group's vision for the waterfront. Further details on the future of the hotel property will be shared as plans progress, the release states.

StanCraft and its partners purchased the 40-year-old waterfront hotel and accompanying marina, located at 414 E. First, in May 2024, the Journal previously reported. Since the acquisition, the ownership group has refreshed some amenities, introduced food and beverage offerings, updated the grounds, and expanded Marina 33 and its services for boaters and the broader community.

The property was constructed by late North Idaho businessman Bob Templin, who built the hotel in 1986.

StanCraft was founded as custom builder of mahogany wooden boats in Lakeside, Montana in 1933. The family-owned group of companies has expanded to include StanCraft Marine Construction, StanCraft Construction Group, and the StanCraft Jet Center.
