A 60-bed memory care facility is planned for Spokane’s North Side, says Kelley Smith, CarePartners Management Group LLC vice president of sales and marketing. 

Spokane Special Care Community, owned and operated by Mercer Island, Washington-based CarePartners, is to be built on two adjacent parcels, at 6904 N. Nevada and 6930 N. Nevada, totaling just more than 2 acres. Site plans show five buildings, including a 2,500-square-foot administrative and kitchen building and three 20-bed, 4,750-square-foot cottages. A fourth cottage will house offices, a meeting room, and a reception area.

Documents also show plans for 37 total parking spaces, a courtyard, and landscaping work.

Documents filed with the city show the project value at up to $10.2 million.

Spokane Special Care Community is expected to open in late 2020. 

CarePartners also owns and operates Maplewood Gardens assisted living facility, at 1100 N. Superior, in the Logan neighborhood.

“It makes sense to add a specialized dementia community to the area,” Smith says. “We have a very resident-centered policy of creating an affordable high-quality service, and we work with Medicaid after a pay-down period so that our residents never have to move when they run out of money.”

Redmond, Washington-based Jensen Fey Architecture & Planning PS is the architect on the Spokane Special Care project. Smith says a contractor hasn’t yet been selected.

According to documents on file with Spokane County, the parcels on which the facility is to be built are both vacant. One parcel is owned by Mead, Washington-based Nevada Towers LLC, and the owner of the other parcel is listed as Spokane-based AGSS LLC.
