Elliott's Urban Kitchen to open along Monroe

Spokane chef Tony Elliott says he plans to open a new restaurant this month in Emerson-Garfield neighborhood, on the lower North Side.

The restaurant, to be called Elliott’s Urban Kitchen, will be located in the Lloyd Building at 2209 N. Monroe.

The building is owned by local developer Mark Agee, who has been working with Elliott to remodel the 2,200-square-foot space, which will include a dining area capable of seating up to 60 people.

“We’re about 70 percent done with remodeling and hope to be opening sometime in the middle of March,” Elliott says. “We’re extremely excited for the opening and so happy to be a part of this neighborhood.”

Elliott, who currently works as an executive chef at Fairchild Air Force Base, says he and his wife Raelene both have extensive experience working in restaurants, but this will be the first time they’ve owned one.

“We’ve been looking for the right space to open a restaurant and this spot matched our vision perfectly,” he says. “Once we’re up and running, we hope to have a staff of between five and 10 people.”

Elliott says the restaurant’s menu will include mostly contemporary American cuisine made with locally sourced, fresh ingredients.

“We’ll have some staple items, but the menu will evolve depending on the season and available ingredients,” he says. “We also plan to have a full bar featuring craft cocktails and local brews.”
