Scout Real Estate adds second downtown office

Company expands into property management

October 12, 2017
LeAnn Bjerken

Spokane-based Scout Real Estate Group LLC has opened a second downtown office that’s five times the size of the original office it started here earlier this year.

Owner and managing broker Brian Bean says the company leased 4,000 square feet of space on the second floor of the Luminaria Building, at 154 S. Madison, to accommodate recent staff growth and the start of its property management company, Scout Management.

“We needed more space for our brokers,” Bean says. “We also just recently partnered with Michael Bradley, owner of Beacon Construction, to form Scout Management, so it made sense to expand a bit.”

Bean says Scout currently employs 11 brokers and four other staff.

“We don’t have any other major plans in the works,” he says. “But we do expect to see another busy year in 2018, so we’re making sure we’re ready.”

Scout Real Estate still focuses on its residential brokerage services, but Bean says it also does some commercial work. Its property management services are new as of early last month, he says.

“Scout Management is currently in negotiations with a large property owner,” he says. “We’re hoping to be able to take over managing several doors for them.”

Scout Real Estate opened its first office—an 800-square-foot corner space at 429 W. First—last March.

“Eventually, we do still plan to purchase a second office location within the surrounding area,” Bean says. “But for now, we needed the extra space, and it’s was a cool location that we just couldn’t pass up.”

While this year has been a busy one for the fledgling company, Bean says he plans for Scout to grow at a more deliberate pace next year.

“We’re still in a growth phase, but we have a good core team now,” he says. “We could see a total of 15 brokers by the end of this year, but we’re not actively recruiting.”
