Viking Construction starts third phase of Post Falls apartments

$6.3 million project will bring total to 208 units

Spokane Valley-based Viking Construction Inc. has started foundation work on the third and final phase of the Fieldstone Apartments complex in north Post Falls, says Scott Krajack, Viking’s director of development.

The $6.3 million, 64-unit phase is at 1702 E. Tango Lane, a block east of the northeast corner of Syringa Street and Poleline Avenue in the Fieldstone master-planned neighborhood.

The project will include two three-story, 24-unit buildings and one two-story, 16-unit building, Krajack says.

The first two phases of Fieldstone Apartments each have 72 units.

“Right now, phase two is partway done, and phase three foundations are in. We’ll probably start constructing phase three (structures) before phase two is 100 percent done. We’re kind of going like an assembly line,” he says.

The complex is on one of the last parcels in the 320-acre, master-planned Fieldstone community to be developed. The community was designed to have 1,120 living units, including more than 800 single-family homes and 32 duplex units.

Wyatt Architects & Associates PS, of Spokane Valley, designed the project, and Whipple Consulting Engineers Inc., also of Spokane Valley, is the civil engineer.

NuVu Property Management LLC, of Hayden, a Viking Construction affiliate, is handling the leasing.

Fieldstone Apartments range in size from 700-square-foot, one-bedroom units to 1,200-square-foot, three-bedroom units with monthly rents ranging from $815 to $1,145, the NuVu website shows.

Viking Construction, which also does business as Viking Homes, is one of the largest residential developers in the Inland Northwest, with active construction occurring in 14 subdivisions, Krajack says.
