Staff Report

Modern Theater is in the early stages of planning a new, $12 million theater building at the northwest corner of Fourth Street and Roosevelt Avenue, in Coeur d’Alene’s Midtown neighborhood. George Green, executive artistic director for Modern Theater, says that as currently envisioned, the building would include 35,000 square feet of floor space with a 300-seat main theater and a separate 90-seat studio theater. Modern Theater expects to spend four years fundraising for the project, with an anticipated opening in either 2021 or 2022.
