Napa Auto store moves north on Monroe

Retailer takes former furniture building after 25 years at previous site

After about 25 years at the same location, the Napa Auto Parts store on Monroe Street has moved half a mile north on the same street.

Jeremy Main, Napa Auto Parts district operations manager, says the former location at 1702 N. Monroe included a basement and main level totaling almost 8,000 square feet. With the move to 2510 N. Monroe, Napa is leasing a little more than 8,500 square feet on one level, Main says.

"There will be more room for inventory, and a store that's more appealing to the public in a better area," he says.

Monroe Jackson LLC owns the building, formerly occupied by Upscale Home Furnishings, which went out of business.

Main says Napa Auto Parts made about $50,000 worth of interior and exterior improvements at its new site, including new walls, flooring, paint, lights, insulation, and signage.

"It will be easier for us to access parts and we will have a greater inventory," Main says. "We're about to do a $100,000 inventory upgrade because we have the room now."

Main oversees 12 Napa stores in the Spokane area. Napa Auto Parts has more than 6,000 stores nationwide.

The stores provide parts and accessories for automobiles and industrial applications.
