Circle K station planned in Valley

$1.5 million project slated on site in Greenacres area

June 8, 2023

Tempe, Arizona-based convenience store chain Circle K Stores Inc. plans to build a store and fueling station at 18723 E. Cataldo, in the Greenacres area of Spokane Valley, says Emily Estes-Cross, public information officer for the city of Spokane Valley.

A contractor for the $1.5 million project hasn’t been assigned yet, says Estes-Cross. Plans provided to the city for permit review identify Douglas Couper, of the Los Angeles office of GreenbergFarrow Architects, as the architect for the project, she says.

The plans show a 5,200-square-foot convenience store building with a 200-square-foot entry canopy, she says. The project valuation for the convenience store is about $600,000. The gasoline fuel canopy valuation is about $670,000, and the diesel fuel canopy valuation is about $230,000, says Estes-Cross.

The Circle K store will be built on a 2.3-acre vacant site. The gasoline canopy will include seven dispensers, and the diesel canopy will have four high-speed dispensers. Gasoline and diesel will be stored in underground storage tanks.

A land-disturbance permit application for grading activities, utilities installation, paving, sidewalks, and driveway approaches also is under review Estes-Cross says.

Spokane County Assessor’s records show Bains & Bolina LLC acquired the property in September 2001.
