2025 Small Business of the Year Finalist: AllStar Glass Co.

Founded in 1987 as Monroe Street Glass Inc., the commercial glazing contractor began doing business as AllStar Glass Co. 20 years ago when Dan and Jodi Martinez acquired the company.

Headquartered at 11420 E. Montgomery in Spokane Valley, AllStar Glass employs 22 people and has grown steadily since the Martinezes bought it. The company reported $7 million in annual sales for 2024, up from $2 million in revenue in 2005 with the goal of reaching $10 million annually in the next five years.

In what ways would you quantify your company's growth? Organic is the word we regularly use. We provide the best service and experience for our customers, and as a result, our sales have grown, our staff has grown, and our reputation continues to thrive and grow.

How has the company adapted or innovated in the past year? We have adapted to the new norms with supply-chain challenges and labor shortages by bringing on the first new glazier apprenticeship program in over 30 years.

Has the company overcome any obstacles in the past year? Our apprenticeship program was met with challenges from objectors to our program. We had conditional approval for most of 2024 while under the watchful eye of the WSATC (Washington State Apprenticeship Training Council). It was just during the January meeting that we got full approval of our program.

Are there any other reasons you believe your organization deserves to be considered for this honor? Not at all. We were nominated by someone we greatly respect, but there is nothing special about us. We are just trying to do the best we can to serve our staff and community. We do what we do because it's the right thing, not to be noticed or recognized. Doing the right thing is always the right thing, even if no one notices.
