Adams Tractor of Spokane, a trade name of Coeur d’Alene Tractor Co., broke ground on a new location at 8217 W. Highway 2, in west Spokane, at the end of 2025. The development is underway on 9 acres of vacant land zoned for light industrial use north of Spokane International Airport.

The company was established in 1929 by Don Adams — who previously earned a living as a fruit farmer — following a conversation with Henry Ford, who convinced Adams to sell tractors in Spokane. In the nearly 100 years since then, the tractor and parts retail and servicing company has functioned as a family-owned business and has been led by five generations in the Inland Northwest.

Adams Tractor has experienced significant growth in the last several years and currently operates locations in Spokane; Coeur d'Alene; Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Lewiston, Idaho; and Collville, Washington.

In what ways would you quantify the organization’s growth in recent years? We've expanded from three locations to five locations over the past four years.

Has the organization overcome any obstacles in the past year? We've been battling the same thing other organizations have — pandemics, economic fluctuations, population growth, tariffs, and material shortages from around the world. We're no different. We just keep finding ways to navigate this game called life and making lemonade out of lemons.

How has the organization adapted or innovated in the past year? We've had to increase prices and find creative ways to add more value to justify the increases imposed on us by our manufacturers.

In what ways does your organization give back to the community? We're heavily involved in community events, educational sponsorships, and opportunities to contribute to the success of our customers' philanthropic endeavors too.

What are your expectations for growth in the coming years? We're currently evaluating other product lines and locations as we grow our business to meet our customers' needs.

Survey responses may have been edited for length and clarity.
