The Bohemian vintage furniture store opens in Spokane Valley

A new vintage décor and furniture store, called The Bohemian, has opened in a 1,500-square-foot space in the Opportunity Shopping Center, at 12019 E. Sprague.

The store, which opened in mid-May, is owned by Spokane Valley couple Danielle and Riley Golay.

“My husband builds furniture, and I repurpose furniture,” says Danielle Golay. “After my daughter was born, I wanted a job that would allow me to bring her along and still provide for our family. Opening our own shop worked out well.”

Golay says the couple worked with a local contractor to remodel the space, which formerly was occupied by a dog grooming service.

“We knocked out a couple of walls and added new paint, new lighting, basically a total interior remodel,” she says.

In addition to selling some of their own hand-built and refinished furniture items, the store also features unique work created by local artists, Golay says.

“We sell mostly upscale furniture and art, along with some antiques,” she says. “A lot of our vendors make truly one-of-a-kind items you won’t find anywhere else.”

Golay says The Bohemian has one other employee besides herself and her husband.
