Dom + Bomb LLC, a Spokane-based fashion company, has launched a size- and gender-inclusive collection, say co-owners Kim Blessing and Delena Mobley.

Dom + Bomb creates clothing in a range of sizes between zero and 32, or XS to 5XL, which currently is sold online, at the domandbomb.com website.

Mobley, Dom + Bom CEO, says the company’s months-long measurement research has found that almost everyone has fit issues.

“We consult with our fit models to identify those problems and work out ways to solve them,” Mobley says. “We want to get to a point where we really focus on bottoms because that’s the feedback that we’re getting.”

Blessing adds, “If we want to make clothes, we want to make sure they fit on people, because that’s a big issue in the fashion industry. How do we do this? We need to measure real people and try stuff on real people.”

The company is Black-woman owned, through Mobley, and LGBTQ-owned, through Blessing. Through their personal experiences, both have decided to create a company with a mission to provide size inclusive and gender-affirming clothes and services, sustainably and ethically.

Blessing says the company has received community support.

“As bigger gals, we’ve struggled to find cute clothes that fit us, and we’re working with trans- and gender-nonconforming people and know how it affects your self-esteem. It affects your ability to get a job, keep a job, and get promoted,” she says.

The company also offers tailoring, mending, and upcycling to help make items last as long as possible and contribute to its mission of sustainability.

Items currently for sale include a crop top, a full-length boatneck T-shirt, a skirt, and graphic T-shirts, ranging in price from $39 to $85.

“We’re working on a T-shirt dress and pants,” Blessing adds.

The company’s only employees are Mobley and Blessing.

Much of their design work is performed at home offices, but they also occupy about 300 square feet of space in two offices at the Crescent Building Executive Suites, at 707 W. Main, in downtown Spokane.
