NID LLC, an affiliate of North Idaho Dermatology PA, is building a $6 million, four-story structure at 2199 N. Merritt Creek Loop in Coeur d’Alene.

The three-story, 27,400-square-foot building will be situated above a 9,400-square-foot parking level says Grant Ely, chief operating officer for North Idaho Dermatology.

Bernardo|Wills Architects PC, of Spokane, is the architect on the project.

Dave Renaldo, project manager with Ginno Construction Co., which is the contractor on the project, says the project site is across the parking lot from North Idaho Dermatology’s current Coeur d’Alene operations, at 2288 N. Merritt Creek Loop, in the Riverstone development northwest of downtown Coeur d’Alene.

Ely says construction started Nov. 1 and is expected to be completed late next September.

North Idaho Dermatology plans to move because the clinic has outgrown its current space, which has about 10,000 square feet, he says.

“As a specialty provider … we’ve hired enough expert medical providers that we want to allow patients to get in the same week, or even the next day, so we want to have a large enough building to house those providers,” Ely says.

The building’s 9,300-square-foot third floor will be mostly unfinished extra space, says Ely.

Chuck Horgan, associate principal for Spokane-based Bernardo|Wills Architects PC, says the exterior will be constructed with precast concrete, brick, metal siding, and aluminum sunshades. The interior will include doctor’s offices, exam rooms, lab space, and procedure rooms.

Established in Coeur d’Alene in 1999, North Idaho Dermatology has offices in Coeur d’Alene; Liberty Lake; Moscow, Idaho; and Sandpoint, Idaho. The clinic has 70 employees and eight medical providers. It will be adding another medical provider next July. The clinic treats patients with acne, eczema, precancerous lesions, psoriasis, skin cancer, and other problems. Cosmetic services include Botox, chemical peels, laser treatments, and waxing services. Dermatology services include Mohs surgery and other skin cancer procedures.
