Nonprofit outpatient mental health clinic Passages Family Support has expanded into the recently renovated third floor of the Sunset Pointe Business Park, at 1700 S. Assembly, says executive director Rebecca Bates.

Passages also leased an additional 18,000 square feet of the first floor, so the organization has a total of 54,000 square feet in the west Spokane building, says Sunset Pointe’s listing broker, Gene Arger, of G. Arger Co. 

Bates says Passages outgrew its previous, 14,000-square-foot space at the St. Joseph Family Center, at 1016 N. Superior.

“We had people just absolutely crammed in offices, overcrowded, and just needed a lot more space,” she says.

Passages offers case management, peer support, therapy, and other services available through Medicaid. It provides services to anyone 3 years of age or older, says Bates.

After health care changes and Medicaid’s expansion in recent years, Passages’ employee count nearly quadrupled. In 2011, when Passages first moved into its office space at St. Joseph Family Center, the organization had about 12 employees. It now has 45, says Bates.

Spokane-based Northwest Farm Credit Services occupied the entire 66,000-square-foot Sunset Pointe building for about 20 years. The lending cooperative purchased its own building and moved out of the park in December 2017.
