New Denny's, Jack in the Box restaurants planned on North Side

Radix plans to construct Denny's, Jack in the Box

January 15, 2015

Radix Construction Inc., of Nampa, Idaho, will begin construction in June on two new restaurants on Spokane’s North Side—a Denny’s Restaurant and a Jack in the Box eatery, says John Day, an architect with Radix.

Construction on the 4,500-square-foot Denny’s Restaurant, which is to be located at 3525 N. Division, will begin on June 15 and is expected to be completed by mid-September, Day says. The site is currently a vacant lot.

Estimated construction cost on the project is $750,000, says a predevelopment conference application filed with the city of Spokane.

Radix Construction is a full-service, commercial construction management and general contracting firm that also offers architectural services. The company holds commercial general contracting licenses in 26 states and two territories.

Denny’s, headquartered in Spartanburg, S.C., is a family restaurant chain. It includes more than 1,600 restaurants in the United States and abroad.

Most Denny’s outlets are known for always being open, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert around the clock. Denny’s Restaurants don’t close on holidays or nights, except where required by law. Many of its restaurants are located near freeway exits, bars, and in service areas. Denny’s started franchising in 1963, and most Denny’s restaurants are now franchisee-owned.

The new Jack in the Box restaurant and drive-thru will be located at 1511 W. Northwest Blvd. in a 3,000-square-foot building. That site, too, is currently a vacant lot.

As with the Denny’s restaurant, construction of the new Jack in the Box is slated to begin June 15 and to be completed by mid-September, Day says. The estimated construction cost on that project is $700,000, says information on file with the city.

Jack in the Box Inc., based in San Diego, is a restaurant company that operates and franchises Jack in the Box restaurants, with more than 2,200 outlets in 21 states and Guam.

Through a wholly owned subsidiary, the company also operates and franchises Qdoba Mexican Grill, with more than 600 restaurants in 47 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada.
