Spokane has been named one of the top 25 U.S. cities for retirees by Forbes.

Washington state employers added 1,200 jobs during the 12 months ending in April, preliminary data from the Washington state Employment Security Department shows.

Idaho Strategic Resources Inc. has reported first-quarter net income of about $1.6 million, or 12 cents per diluted share, a 26% decrease from the year-earlier quarter.

Avista Corp. has reported first-quarter net income of $79 million, or $0.98 per diluted share, up from $71 million, or $0.91 per share, in the year-earlier quarter.

Spokane Valley-based Key Tronic Corp. has reported a net loss of $604,000, or $6 cents per diluted share, for the company’s  fiscal-year 2025 third quarter, which ended March 29. 

Closed single-family home sales in the Spokane area totaled 483 in April, down just two sales, or 0.4%, from the same month last year, according to the latest market snapshot posted through the Spokane Association of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service.

Coeur d’Alene-based Hecla Mining Co. reported first-quarter net income of $28.9 million, an increase over the year-earlier quarter net loss of $5.8 million.
