Canyon Creek Cabinets remodels Spokane Valley showroom

Displays are replaced; sales offices revamped

January 15, 2015

Monroe, Wash.-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. is ready to show off its retail sales showroom in Spokane Valley at 10221 E. Montgomery Drive, after a complete remodel, says Doug McIalwain, showroom manager.

In business since 1981, Canyon Creek Cabinets manufactures cabinetry for homeowners as well as custom cabinets for builders and designers. With 332 employees, including four in its Spokane sales office, the company makes home cabinetry and closet storage systems.

McIalwain says all 13 retail displays in the 1,200-square-foot showroom have been replaced, and sales offices have been revamped, to showcase a variety of cabinet designs, styles, finishes, finish enhancements, decorative hardware, and accessories. The cost of the remodel was about $250,000 he says.

Outdated displays have been reconfigured and offices have been moved to the upstairs floor of the two-story building, to provide more space for floor displays. Countertops, tile, lighting, and new products also have been changed out to fit better with the Spokane area’s market, he says.

“It allows our customers to come and have salespeople show them the products in person, as opposed to the Internet pictures,” McIalwain says. “We have full kitchen displays, full baths, and vanities. It’s a lot easier for people to visualize it in their own homes.”

Costs for the cabinets range from $1,500 for entry-level cabinets in smaller homes, to increasing costs for custom cabinets depending on square footage, McIalwain says.

“We are semi-custom so we don’t just drop off boxes of cabinets. We design for entry-level homes to custom homes and we individualize them,” he says. “We do everything from remodels to new builds.”
